The Bike Natchitoches THIRD ANNUAL CANE RIVER PLANTATION RIDE
The Bike Natchitoches Cane River Plantation Ride takes place on Saturday, May 7th. Riders will have their choice of three scenic routes -- 15 miles, 25 miles or a metric century -- each starting at the Cane River Creole National Park (Oakland Plantation) in Bermuda. All routes include the Cane River Heritage Trail and Isle Brevelle Trail and riders can expect to pass by several of the area’s antebellum homes, as well as historic St. Augustine Catholic Church. All participants are encouraged to tour the National Park at Oakland, Magnolia and Melrose Plantations. Registration opens at 7:15 a.m. and the ride will start at 8:15 a.m. Registration is $35 for adults, $20 for riders 17 years old or younger and students. Those who register before April 30th are guaranteed a ride shirt and gift bag. In addition to the bike rides, Bike Natchitoches will host a free 2k family fun run/walk. A free lunch will be served to all participants, beginning at 10:30 a.m. All bike riders will be required to wear a helmet during the ride.
