"Tales of a Boy from Cane River" Reading and Q&A with author Harvis “Junior” Johnson
Join us at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum as Junior Johnson discusses his new book, Tales of a Boy from Cane River. Known affectionately as “Junior”, the author writes about his life growing up on Cane River in a loving sharecropper’s home and his career in the offshore oil and gas industry. His first book, Tales of a Boy from Cane River is the result of those stories, and a dream come true for him. Listen to some of these stories, meet the author and buy a signed copy of his book. Junior was born and raised in the beautiful little Village of Cloutierville and is a graduate of Northwestern State University. He retired after 32 years in the offshore oil and gas industry when an accident at work left him disabled. Through recovery Junior realized that facing challenges in life doesn’t limit your dreams if you want to pursue them. His goal is that readers of his stories will have fond memories of their childhood and events throughout their lives.
