“Who Killed the King,” written by Jim Daab, is a ridiculous spoof of the Middle Ages and the royal court. The play is set at the coronation of King Ronald, Lord of the Ville. You will be joined at tonight’s long-awaited ceremony by the most prestigious of our kingdom’s court. Prince Ronald, our King In Waiting, will be escorted by his lovely wife, the Princess, and Her Majesty, the Queen, shall be accompanied by none other than the Royal Tax Collector. And a full program of diversions have been rehearsed by Morrie, the Court Jester. So Lords and Ladies of the court, wash down your fowl with some ale… but be forewarned!…there’s a cold wind blowing in the Ville tonight and not all will be saying “Long live the King!”

The cast is Chase Crane of Livingston as Morrie the Jester, Maci Walgamotte of Slidell as a Wench, Gavin Bergeron of Houma as Brother Thelonius, Jordon Thomas of Baton Rouge as the Tax Collector, Derek Walle of Prairieville as Prince Ronald, Megan Hobgood of Lubbock, Texas, as the Princess and Lauren Holland of Minden as the Queen.

Roshane Brown of Kingston, Jamaica, is the stage manager and Anna Gautreaux of Houma is assistant stage manager/fight captain.

“Just like our other murder mystery shows, we want the audience to have a good time,” said Richoux. “Our students are working like crazy to develop these characters to be wacky, fun and over the top. This is my second opportunity to direct a Dinner Theatre production here at NSU, and I get to have so much fun building this show for our audience.”

Richoux said serving as director for this show brings back a lot of memories from when he was an NSU student and in a summer show written by Daab.

“I am excited to bring a fun and mysterious experience to the cast, crew and audience,” said Richoux. “I believe audiences will be entertained while interacting with the characters throughout dinner. All we ask is for our guests to come ready to have a good time.”
