    Fulltime position shift is 6A-6P, work 2 days off 2 days.
     
    Position Summary
    The Cook may work any shift preparing all foods, including baked goods, for residents.
     
    Primary Responsibilities
     
    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary responsibilities.
    1. Prepares, cooks and bakes food items according to standardized recipes, production counts, and using safe food handling procedures.
    2. Serves food items on tray line.
    3. Removes pans from steam table.
    4. Recycling left-overs in cafeteria.
    5. Prepares food for next day.
    6. Covers, labels, and dates any food items placed in storage.
    7. Delivers or retrieves meal buggies as needed.
    8. Washes pans in 3-compartment sink and assists on dish machine as needed.
    9. Cleans and sanitizes work area.
    10. Completes cleaning assignments.
    11. Sweeps and mops work area as needed.
    12. Attends staff meetings and in-services.
    13. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
     
    Competencies
    1. Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.
    2. Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment.
    3. Ability to follow instructions and recipes, making accurate ingredient measurements.
    4. Ability to use appropriate discretion in handling confidential information and materials.
    5. Ability to read and understand recipes scaled to produce large quantities.
    6. Excellent customer service skills.
