    Position Summary
    As Director of Oncology, the leader will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the NRMC Cancer Center.  The Director must ensure that the cancer center is running smoothly and proficiently, paying attention to efficiency and maintenance/reduction of operating costs without losing quality patient care. The Director of Oncology will execute on the operational and strategic plan for the cancer center to assure cost effective, high quality, coordinated, patient focused care. This key leader will provide direction in the development of strategy by leveraging organizational strengths and relationships to ensure the continued support for future growth in cancer services. They will be responsible for the overall growth and development of oncology services, including coordination, development, physician relations and strategic planning.  Additionally, the Director of Oncology develops and implements processes and procedures for the operation of the practice, while maintaining the policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and care values of NRMC.  As the Director of Oncology, this person will provide care and support to patients under the direction of the physician as well as contributing to the planning and delivery of patient focused care.  This person will manage staff members in the NRMC Cancer Center to include interviewing, counseling, etc., as needed.  Will assist in formulating budget, will actively participate in CQI activities.  Will also consult and report to VP of Outpatient and Continuum of Care Services as required by hospital dictates.  Performs other duties as assigned.
    Required Education and Experience
    1. Master of Science/Arts degree.
    2. Bachelor of Science in a health-related field.
    3. Minimum of five years’ experience in a specialized medical office/ outpatient practice.
    4. Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English.
    5. Basic Computer skills including Microsoft office
    Preferred Education and Experience
    1. Oncology Management Experience or relevant specialty healthcare service management.
    2. Master’s degree but may be substituted with 5 plus years of experience in the provision of cancer services, including at least three years of oncology management.
    3. Knowledge and understanding of emerging health care, market, and technology trends, including forces influencing the growth, utilization, and delivery of cancer services.
