    FT work (5) 12 hours shifts per pay period, 2 weekend shifts per month, and 2 holidays per year.   
     
    Position Summary:
    NRMC will maintain a Nurse Pool, made up of RN's and LPN's as one method of ensuring that patient care staffing needs are always met. An additional goal of the Nurse Pool is to provide a flexible, attractive employment opportunity for nursing professionals and patient care support personnel. Unless otherwise specified, Nurse Pool associates will adhere to all hospital rules and policies.
     
    Requirements:
    RN's and LPN's hired to work in the Nurse Pool must have at least one year of hospital experience as a nurse. Float pool nurses will be oriented to a department and competencies completed for that department before assignment to that department.
    1. Nurse Pool associates must hold a current, unrestricted, Louisiana nursing license. CPR, ACLS, PALS, and MOAB are required within 3 months of hire.
    2. Must complete all compliance & regulatory assignments, Care Learning, competency assessments, etc.
     
    Weekend and Holiday requirements:
    1. Nurse Pool associates are required to work two (2) major holidays per calendar year.
    2. Nurse Pool associates are required to work one (1) scheduled weekend per month, or two (2) weekend shifts per month. Weekend shift begins Friday at 7pm and ends Monday morning at 7am.
    3. Nurse Pool associates who fail to meet the above weekend and holiday requirements are subject to termination. The employee will receive written notice of this action. If there are special circumstances, such as medical leave of absence, etc., arrangements must be made with Staffing Coordinator or Assistant VP of Clinical Services.

    Other:
    All staff, including Nurse Pool associates, canceled due to low census are subject to being placed in an "on-call status" for the duration of the shift. The staff asked to be "on-call" must be available by phone. On-call personnel will be paid at the designated rate for each hour on-call. Call-back pay is payable when an associate is summoned to return to the hospital. Call-back pay is paid at one and on-half the regular rate of pay and should continue at this rate for the entire time the associate is needed, or at a minimum of two hours or until the beginning of the associate's regular shift. Nurse Pool associates will follow the organization On Call & Call Back Pay Policy.
    The Staffing Coordinator, or House Supervisor, will make a "good faith" effort to contact the employee in advance of shift cancellation.
    Nurse Pool associates must meet all annual competency requirements for each unit worked
