  • NEW Online Marketplace for Louisiana Farmers

A new online farmer’s market has been established to help Louisiana growers sell their produce and other local goods as the COVID-19 pandemic has reduced the marketplace. Farmers have been significantly impacted by the pandemic after restaurants and school feeding programs were shut down. Food4All, run by the LSU AgCenter, provides an online marketplace at no cost to the seller.

“I am quite excited to be able to offer our Louisiana growers and producers this web-based resource, as similar websites require a considerable amount of financial investment before any form of transaction is made possible,” said Alessandro Holzapfel, an LSU AgCenter extension associate involved with the project. “Having the function and functionality without the price tag is the right step in the right direction as we are entering the ‘new normal’ post-COVID-19 pandemic.”

Farmers can create an account to sell their products, and customers can pay electronically with a credit card. Other payment options are available, such as EBT or SNAP benefits. To search for items by ZIP code, or to create a seller’s account, visit food4all.com.
