    Transitioning Soldiers and Veterans:

    Addiction Center

Drug trafficking and homegrown operations contribute to the availability of many types of drugs within the state, including methamphetamine and heroin. Because of Louisiana's diversified drug landscape, Louisiana has become a melting pot for many types of substance abuse disorders.

    Mesothelioma Center ‚Äč

Veterans comprise more than 30 percent of all mesothelioma cases in the United States. Because all branches of the military relied on asbestos in the past, and builders overseas still do, veterans are more likely than others to develop asbestos-related diseases. This center offers free VA Claims assistance to veterans exposed to asbestos. Veterans can access a monthly online support group where a variety of topics pertaining to cancer patients are discussed.  An on-staff doctor and nurse are available to answer any medical-related questions.  Veterans can also access Patient Advocates that work 1-on-1 with individuals to help them find local doctors, treatment centers and support groups.

    Treatment Center

A national veteran addiction treatment center data base with modern location technology to help veterans find local addiction treatment. Find A Veteran Center Near Me technology uses the location of our veterans computers, tablets, or cell phones to generate a local listing of the veteran addiction treatment centers closest to them. Treatment-centers.net is a community based public benefit website connecting people to the addiction resources they need.  The resource is free to the public.
