The Resurrection Fern Foundation, Inc. is Proud to Announce the 5th Annual Cane River film festival on March 18-19,2022 in Natchitoches, La. The festival is produced by the Resurrection Fern Foundation Inc., a non-profit organization for Historic Preservation created by Kelly Jackson, Producer, Director and SAG/AFTRA Union Actor who is a descendant of the Historic, Louisiana Creole, Metoyer family legacy.
Ms. Jackson moved from Los Angeles, Ca. to Louisiana for the research and development of a Documentary that she is currently in production of in partnership with Louisiana Cultural Development, "Resurrection Fern" The Life and Times of Marie Therese CoinCoin, about her Cane River Creole family history. During this process, Kelly created the Cane River film festival to further educate and celebrate her heritage in regards to the Melrose Plantation and St. Augustine Catholic Church.
The CRFF is an International film festival with Independent and Student filmmakers submitting their films from all over the World for a chance to Win the $1,500 Cash Grand Prize donated by the Natchitoches Historic District Development Commission.
