The Natchitoches Parish Library is offering free computer classes at the library at Basic Computer classes will be offered as two one hour sessions. There will be four classes for the month of October; there is limited space and you must sign up to attend.
The classes offered are:
October 7th (Wed) & 8th (Thurs) at 10:00AM
October 7th (Wed) & 8th (Thurs) at 2:30PM
October 14th (Wed) & 15th (Thurs) at 11:00AM
October 14th (Wed) & 15th (Thurs) at 2:30PM
The first segment will cover the terminology for common parts and user interface elements, how to navigate in the desktop environment, launching/closing/minimizing applications, saving and moving files, and basic use of Microsoft Word (use of templates and basic document editing).
The second segment will cover internet and computer safety topics such as antivirus software and safe browsing habits, along with common website layout and navigation. Patrons will also be walked through creating a Gmail account and explanation of how to send and read email.
