In 2013, Emma Boozman retired as one of the most successful girls’ basketball coaches in Louisiana with an 865-370 record in her 36-year career (26 with the Natchitoches Central High School Chiefs). Prior to her coaching career, she was a standout athlete at Northwestern State University, averaging 10 points and five rebounds per game from 1973 to 1976. In April 1975, she became one of the first 10 women to receive a full athletic scholarship at a Louisiana university. On Jan. 6, 2015 she will share her remarkable story. Free and open to the public.
