Northwestern State and Stephen F. Austin -- two schools that are linked by hometowns and athletic success. Generally, an NSU-SFA matchup doesn't need anything extra to draw fans to the arena. Thursday's women's basketball matchup between the Lady Demons and Lady Jacks, however, does just that. The 6:30 p.m. tipoff will be the first of two "Pack Prather" nights, as Northwestern State looks to fill up its venerable 3,400-seat arena. The second "Pack Prather" night will be Monday when the Northwestern State men host Stephen F. Austin. There will be prizes awarded for fans and students who attend the games. NSU students who attend both "Pack Prather" games will have a chance to win $500. Free food and T-shirts will be available while supplies to all who attend either "Pack Prather games. General admission tickets are available for $5 and can be purchased through the Office of Greek Life by calling (318) 357-5439 or from any NSU fraternity or sorority member. Thursday night's matchup between the Lady Demons and the Lady Jacks is a rematch of the 2014 Southland Conference Tournament championship game, which ended in a 62-44 NSU victory that sent the Lady Demons to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade. Monday's matchup between the men's teams features the NSU tandem of Jalan West, one of the nation's top playmakers, and Zeek Woodley, who ranks among the national scoring leaders, facing off against the Southland-leading Lumberjacks in a meeting of the Southland's two most recent NCAA Tournament representatives.
