Cane River Paddle and Pedal
PaddleFit is an outdoor fitness coaching and training system performed on a stand-up paddleboard. It is a true cross-fit program that challenges your ability to complete strength and conditioning exercises while balancing a board on water.
Our program is designed to improve balance, agility, core strength, endurance and cardio fitness. The best part is that Paddlefit is done outside, on the water. Not only will you improve your overall fitness but will experience the fastest growing water activity on the planet and the physical, mental and spiritual wellness that SUP offers. You will learn how paddle technique drives the rate of fitness improvement
Here is what a typical Paddlefit class will look like:
On Land:
- 10 min. of shoulder and balancing exercises
On Water:
- 1 mile warm-up paddle(Church St. bridge to Keyser bridge and back)
- Push-ups
- Crunches
- Squats
- Board agility exercises
Between each set of exercises students will paddle a sprint lap around two buoys with the last lap done from the prone paddle position.
Each week will see exercises and distances added to the program to keep it challenging. And, of course, there will be wind at times to test your mental toughness and determination.
Cost: $20/class or $50/month
Tuesdays: 6 – 7 pm at our rental location. Church St. bridge at Williams Ave on the riverbank.
